Scott Beatty and I finally got approval for a limited series
detailing Dick Grayson's first year as Robin. It took us a few
months to find the proper artist. I'm not at liberty to name
the artist at this time. But he's a relative unknown but not
a newcomer. And he's REAL good.

The series will begin where THE GAUNTLET left off. We see
Dick on his first cases with Batman and a falling out between
the two as they both work the bugs out of their partnership.
Presented here in full for the first time will be the oft-mentioned
Double Gallows Trap that was Robin's darkest moment in his career
as the Boy Wonder. We'll also see Dick Grayson's continued training
by folks other than Batman and introduce a brand new villain.
ROBIN YEAR 1.1 (working title) will be a four part series
in 48 page prestige installments.
Scott and I start work right after Labor Day.
