You all seem to know there are talent changes afoot in the
new year. Since there's been no official announcements from DC
there's nothing specific I can say except that I'm happy with
my new teams. One of them I'm VERY familiar with as are all of
you. They simply moved from one of my books to another. The other
two I've never worked with but are TOP talents.
Although it's only July I have written two isues apiece for
the new teams and have figured how how my approach to Nightwing,
Robin and Birds of Prey will change to suit them. This is a visual
thing so don't worry that the tone of the books will be altered.

The recent arrival of Matt Idelson as editor of Robin as driven
about fifty thousand volts into my interest in the book. Frankly,
I was worried about what I'd do with the Boy Wonder after Nom
Man's Land. But Matt made a few excellent and inspired suggestions
and I've got more than enough rich material to base the coming
year on. There'll be some changes in Tim Drake's life that really
heighten the tension of the book without losing any of its appeal.
I'm of the "if it broke don't tweak it" school. But
Robin needed something to make it special post NML and Matt's
been the ticket.
As soon as DC announces all of the art changes for January
2000 I'll be more free to comment. But don't worry, the books
are in good hands.
Have a happy Fourth!
Chuck
